Principal and Managing director.
Ivor is our team’s Principal and Managing director. He is a trained Quantity Surveyor with a Degree in Building Science (Construction Management), as well as an Accredited Trainer. He is also a full member of the Australian Institute of Building, and a Registered Building Practitioner. With over 50 years experience in Australia and Overseas, he is well placed to assist your team to ensure that they have the correct up-to-date training in Technology, Systems, Contract Administration, and Project Controls. Other team members include three qualified System Analysts/Programmers, and an Administrator.

When looking at the Estimate window you get to see a mini version BoQ & Client Specification at the same time so you can view and analyse the hard copy drawing all at the same time (2 screen monitor set-up & ‘paper’ plans).

The method of populating the Estimate sheet is relatively simple & logical – If you find something challenging you can easily manipulate the master template by altering line descriptions, UoM, etc. to suit what you want

I find the program leads you along in a logical sequence so understanding how the program works it is very easy to grasp

You don’t need advanced technical training to understand and work with the program. However, if you have a basic understanding of EXCEL & have a trained/technical background you will grasp the program even quicker such as following the methods recommended in the Australian Standard of Measurement of Building Works taught at TAFE & University

I contacted Ivor to conduct 3 x 3 hr, one-on-one training sessions relating to how MS Project can work with the Maximo maintenance management system plus ancillary XL based inputs. At the start of the course, I was unable to build an operational MS Project Template to accommodate all my requirements. Just following the internet based tutorials was no substitute for sitting with an expert and asking specific questions about the precise set up I required. After two sessions I was able to build a robust template and this meant that in the third and final session we were able to get down to the nitty gritty of the project. Ivor was invaluable to me and I don’t hesitate in recommending him to anyone seeking a thorough understanding of what MS Project can (and can’t) do for you.
